When was EB Games created?

The history of EB Games began in the United States in 1977 with the opening of a store in Philadelphia under the name of Electronics Boutique (EB), focused on the sale of digital watches, calculators and small radios.

In 1997, the company landed in Australia with the opening of the first Electronics Boutique store in Westfield Miranda. In 2002 the company was redesigned and the EB (acronym for Electronics Boutique) GameWorld and EB Kids brands were launched.

In 2005 Electronics Boutique acquired GameStop and expanded its operations to Australia, Canada, Europe and New Zealand. EB Games expanded in the following years with the addition of new stores through the acquisition of other brands, such as The Gamesman in 2008.
